Oil tankers leased by Qatar Energy under the UAE were attacked by drones
According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations Center, on Wednesday a product tanker—owned by the UAE—was attacked by a drone off the waters near Qatar. At the time of the attack, it was berthed in the northern waters of Ras Laffan Port in Qatar.
The portion of the vessel above the waterline of Aqua 1 was damaged, and the onboard fire has been brought under control. All 23 Filipino crew members aboard the ship are safe and unharmed. A broker said the vessel was chartered by Qatar Energy, and it was not carrying cargo at the time of the attack. As of now, at least 22 ships have been attacked by Iran in this conflict.
