At the opening ceremony of the 14th International Energy Storage Summit and Exhibition held today, Wu Guogang, a second-level inspector with the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the scale of the new energy storage industry is growing steadily. Next, the MIIT will strengthen precise oversight of industrial operations, dynamically track key operating indicators such as energy storage battery capacity, output, and prices, enhance forward-looking analysis and risk prevention and control, curb repeated low-level capacity expansion, and guide the industry to plan scientifically and develop in a standardized manner. Meanwhile, the MIIT will also organize and draft the Fifteen-Five New Energy Battery Development Plan; strengthen the implementation of mandatory national standards for energy storage batteries; accelerate the formulation of key standards such as product safety ratings, performance tiering, and rapid testing; improve the long-term industry self-discipline mechanism; and focus on building a high-quality, fairly priced, and orderly market ecosystem, while breaking the deadlock of homogeneous and involutionary competition.
