Local time on the 6th, an American official revealed that Iran’s response to the proposal by the United States to end the war has been “too demanding,” and it is not yet clear whether this will help advance a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.

Earlier that day, the reporter from China Central Television (CCTV) learned from the Iranian side that Iran has responded to Pakistan to the U.S. proposal to end the war.

It is understood that Iran’s demands cover ten clauses. The core content includes: emphasizing that the war must be permanently ended in accordance with Iran’s concerns; and presenting a series of requests, such as ending regional conflicts, drafting a security and safe passage agreement for the Strait of Hormuz, post-war reconstruction, and lifting sanctions.

Previously, sources said that Pakistan had drawn up a framework proposal for ending the conflict and communicated with the U.S. and Iran “through the night.” The plan is to first achieve an immediate ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and then reach a final agreement within 15 to 20 days. The final agreement may include an undertaking by Iran not to seek nuclear weapons in exchange for sanctions relief and the unfreezing of frozen assets. Reports from the U.S. side indicate that the United States, Iran, and the mediators are discussing a potential 45-day ceasefire agreement to create conditions for subsequent negotiations and ultimately end the war.

Earlier on the 6th, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Baghae said that Iran would put forward its own position based on Iran’s national interests, security, and the legitimate demands of the Iranian people. Iran has prepared responses to issues such as the ceasefire-and-war-ending plan conveyed by the mediators, and will release information to the public in a timely manner. However, he did not reveal specific details of the ceasefire agreement.
