Baoding City Launches Level II Emergency Response Measures for Heavy Pollution Weather

Based on a joint consultation among the Provincial Ecological and Environmental Emergency and Severe Air Pollution Weather Early Warning Center and the China National Environmental Monitoring Station, as well as the provincial meteorological disaster prevention and environmental meteorology center, it is expected that from March 1 to 4 and from about March 6 to 10, the surface air pressure field in Baoding City will weaken and gradually shift to southeast winds. Overall humidity will increase, atmospheric dispersion conditions will deteriorate, and during this period, influenced by wind-field convergence, two rounds of moderate pollution episodes will occur. To lessen the impact of pollution weather on public health, with approval from the city government, at 18:00 on March 1 the city will initiate a Level II emergency response to severe air pollution weather; the解除 time will be announced separately.
