Iran Accuses UAE of Joining War

(MENAFN) Iran’s state-controlled media on Saturday asserted that the United Arab Emirates has become involved in the ongoing conflict with Iran.

A state-run broadcaster posted on the US-based social platform X, claiming that there are two documents that substantiate the UAE’s participation in the war against Iran.

According to the broadcaster, the destruction of a Chinese WingLoong-2 drone on April 1, which it stated is “only in the possession of Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” along with the interception of an “Emirati Mirage 2000 fighter jet over Iran’s Jask Island on March 22," serve as proof of the UAE’s involvement in the hostilities.

These allegations have not been independently verified by a news agency. Additionally, the UAE has not issued an immediate response to the claims.

Tensions in the region have intensified since the United States and Israel conducted a joint assault on Iran on February 28, resulting in the deaths of over 1,340 individuals, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Tehran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states that host US military facilities.
