In the first quarter, crypto startups attracted nearly $5 billion in venture capital investments. This is 16% less than the amount recorded in the first three months of 2025. Back then, amid the euphoria associated with the start of Donald Trump's presidency in the US, funding volume approached $6 billion, according to DL News.
This year, the market segment that attracted the most investor interest was prediction markets, which drew over $1.7 billion. Following that are the payments sector ($735 million) and trading infrastructure ($423 million).
It is logical that the largest funding rounds by amount involved the two leading prediction platforms. Kalshi raised $1 billion, and Polymarket — $600 million.
