The Observatory issued a special weather warning at 1:10 PM, stating that due to an influence from a low-pressure trough, there is a continuous development of heavy thunderstorms in the Pearl River Estuary area. It is expected that in the next one or two hours, some parts of Hong Kong will experience heavier rainfall and severe gale-force thunderstorms.
