Fatherly-style leader and motherly-style leader
Today, let’s talk about this title—please, hear me out slowly!
It suddenly gives you a feeling: you see a certain thing, and you think it’s a “bellwether.” But it doesn’t match the usual thought patterns and inertia you’re used to. Still, you have to admit it’s very strong—so strong that, at one point, it was the top performer for that phase, a truly unique existence!
Let me first give an example—set a definition first—so everyone can taste what a bellwether feels like through my perspective and values!
First, let’s look at the fatherly-type bellwether
Smart Agriculture, Yibin Vocational, Lianhuan Pharmaceutical, Tibet Tourism, Dayou Energy, Yu Neng Holdings, RIBO Fashion, Zhongke Information, Wanxing Technology, Yinxing Energy, Dianqiu Network, Tenda Technology, Shouka Shares, Meibang Shares, Hangchi Advancements, Jimei Packaging, Shuangcheng Pharmaceutical, Chengfei Integration. Guangdong Guangxi Shares, Hua Dian Liaoneng, Kelai Electromechanical, Jinglun Electronics Ai Ai Jinggong, ST Yushun (and a whole series of “monster stocks!”)
Next, let’s look at the motherly-type bellwether
Oriental Communication, Zhengdan Shares, Public Transport, Huagong Technology, Jie Rong Technology, Shenglong Shares, Shanghai Film, Haitian Ruisheng, Hytera, Changshan North Ming, Sunrise in the East, Zhongda Lide, Dexin Jiaoyun, Hengbao Shares, Zhongyida, Xiangyang Bearings, Wanfeng Ausway, High-Tech Development, Wolong Electric Drive, Great Wall of China, Hongbaoli, Shutai Shen, Guangsheng Tang, Zhend Medial, Langfei Optical Fibers, Yizhong Tian, Hangzhou Relectricity
There are too many to list them all—everyone can savor them slowly. Fatherly-type bellwethers are a kind of rigidity! “Conquer the world with hardness”! They’re all that uniquely irreplaceable core from that stage!
One yin and one yang is what we call the Dao. Motherly-type bellwethers are more gentle, but their staying power is very strong. They don’t contend to get ahead—what they fight for is an endless, surging flow!
Fatherly-type bellwethers are easy to spot but hard to do, while motherly-type bellwethers are easy to do but hard to hold!
A fatherly-type bellwether can deliver a double in the short term—a sprint in competition!
A motherly-type bellwether can provide continuous care—staying by your side all the way—a soul mate, the champion of long-distance running and a marathon king!
These two styles of martial arts are like the ultra-precise yin arts, the Nine Yin Manual, and the ultra-sun martial arts, the Nine Yang Divine Art!
Some are hermaphrodite types!
For example: Hytera, Public Transport, Han Cable Shares, Zhongtong Bus, Shangwei New Materials.
You can see their rigidity, and you can also see their flexibility!
Here, I want to set my own label!
That is: performance-driven bellwethers are generally motherly-type—very yielding.
For example, Zhengdan Shares, Langfei Optical Fibers, Huagong Technology, Yizhong Tian!
Reorganization-type bellwethers are generally mostly the more just-to-the-max fatherly-type.
Bellwethers from sudden events and policy-themed material—those “monster stocks” too—are either rigid-and-gentle in balance, or coordinated between father and mother!
For example: Hengbao, Public Transport, Huagong, Yinzhijie, Hytera, Sunrise in the East, Shouka (Wolong)
Breakthrough-style bellwethers are generally rigid fatherly-type bellwethers.
I don’t know if I’ve explained it this way clearly enough—can everyone understand. Anyway, I feel that after writing this article, it helps me better understand the market!
Some bellwethers really are hard to read, but they are also truly strong—so strong that you can’t help but admit they’re the absolute core!
If you’re used to rigid fatherly-type bellwethers, when you see a flexible one, you may feel uncomfortable!
If you’re used to flexible motherly-type bellwethers, when you see a rigid one, you may feel out of sync!
So which type of bellwether is more common?
If you ask me, neither is common—both are scarce goods!
But personally, I’m a bit biased: fatherly-type bellwethers are harder to do. They make people hesitate to get on board every day—so afraid. They’re a rare opportunity—you can’t always find them. And they’re prone to a dramatic “limit-down” plus a nuclear button move!
Motherly-type bellwethers are more accommodating; you can take on larger positions and keep tracking them continuously.
Although at the start I was good at and liked fatherly-type bellwethers, the more I loved them, the more I hated them!
On the road of pursuing what you like, inevitably you’ll run into lots of pitfalls and many landmines. You could say: to catch just one, you might fail more than ten. But sometimes, only with a bellwether like this—do you trade it or not?
What I mean is:
You might be able to understand it but choose not to trade it—fine. But you can’t truly be “bad”!
So right now I’m learning, I’m practicing—adapting to motherly-type bellwethers!
Sometimes, it drags along, indecisive. You can’t help but want to sell it. After you sell, you still regret it. Even if it gaps down after hitting a limit, you still don’t want to leave. Sometimes, the control of your mindset means success; sometimes, a single moment of “holding back” turns into a “warm-water-braised frog” decline!
But for now, the most comfortable is still hermaphrodite-type bellwethers!
They have strength, they have resilience: there’s the excitement of staying up at night counting limit-up boards in your dreams, and there’s also the difference during the trading session—consistent turnover release, with selling pressure being absorbed!
Today I suddenly had an idea: sometimes you have to go with the flow!
If you can’t do it, you don’t understand it—you can’t force it, because you don’t know what the hidden cost behind it is!
It might be waiting. It might be a huge drawdown. It might be courage. It might be endurance. It might be temptation. It might be loneliness. It might be the collapse of your values and beliefs!
Here, I don’t want to induce, guide, or mislead anyone—I want to show you the way.
What I hope is to stick to your own consistency!
One teapot is best used to brew only one kind of tea.
One wine bottle is best used to hold only one kind of wine.
To achieve success, go crazy first—be focused, be aligned, stay concentrated, and keep going!
