Iran launches cluster missile-equipped missiles toward central Israel

Local time in the early hours of March 18, Iran launched a missile carrying cluster warheads at central Israel. Iran said the move was in retaliation for Israel’s assassination of Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Israel said the Iranian missile attack killed two people, damaged a train station, and caused related rail sections to be temporarily suspended at one point. It is understood that missiles carrying cluster warheads break up into multiple smaller explosive devices in the air, covering a wide area and making them difficult to intercept. (CCTV News)
