Turkish Stock Market Ends Higher

(MENAFN) The main Turkish stock market indicator wrapped up Tuesday at 12,790.98 points, marking a 1.3% increase compared to its previous closing level. The BIST 100 began the session at 12,650.59 and advanced by 164.63 points relative to Monday’s finish.

Throughout the trading day, the index fluctuated between a low of 12,634.88 and a peak of 12,848.67, reflecting moderate volatility. A total of 72 sector indices recorded gains, whereas 26 ended the session in negative territory.

Trading activity remained robust, with the overall transaction volume climbing to 148.8 billion Turkish liras ($3.34 billion). Meanwhile, the total market capitalization of the index stood at 12.43 trillion liras ($280.2 billion).

In currency markets, the USD/TRY exchange rate reached 44.4795 by 6:20 pm local time (1520 GMT). The EUR/TRY pair was valued at 51.3190, while the GBP/TRY rate traded at 58.8025.

Commodity prices also drew attention, as gold was priced at $4,616.30 per ounce. At the same time, Brent crude oil futures were trading at $107.25 per barrel.
