Up 489% year-over-year, Hong Kong stock IPO financing in the first quarter nearly 1,100 HKD

In the first quarter of 2026, a total of 40 companies were listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with IPO fund-raising amounting to nearly HK$110 billion, up 489% year over year. By number of sponsors, the top three investment banks by sponsor count maintained their positions from 2025. Among them, CICC Hong Kong continued to lead the IPO sponsor count with 15 deals, ranking first; Citic Securities (calculated by merging Citic Hong Kong with Citic Lyon) and Huatai Financial Holdings (Hong Kong) sponsored 7 deals each, jointly ranking second; UBS, Morgan Stanley, Guotai Junan, and CMB International Capital (Hong Kong) sponsored 4 deals each, jointly ranking third.
