Energy storage cell supply cannot meet demand: orders are scheduled until next year, and companies are accelerating capacity expansion to meet the surge in demand.

Multiple interviews recently learned that the current domestic energy storage cell capacity has fully entered a tight supply situation where demand exceeds supply. Leading companies already have energy storage cell orders scheduled through the end of the first quarter of 2027. Meanwhile, the spot price of cells has rebounded significantly from the 2025 low, and bargaining power within the industry has flipped. At the same time, driven by the supply-demand shortfall, the domestic energy storage cell segment has kicked off a new round of capacity expansion. Several companies have announced large-scale expansion plans.
