Domestic flight route fuel surcharge adjustment starts today: flights over 800 kilometers will be charged 120 yuan.

Recently, multiple airlines, including Air China, XiamenAir, and China United Airlines, have issued announcements to adjust the collection standards for fuel surcharges for passenger transport on domestic routes.

Effective from April 5, 2026 (inclusive), the fuel surcharge collection standards for passenger tickets sold on domestic routes are adjusted to:

For flight segments of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less, RMB 60 per passenger will be collected;

For flight segments of more than 800 kilometers, RMB 120 per passenger will be collected.

Infants who, in accordance with regulations, are eligible for 10% of the domestic civil aviation adult ordinary fare will be exempt from the fuel surcharge.

For children who, in accordance with regulations, purchase domestic civil aviation adult ordinary fare at 50% (including children without an accompanying adult), revolutionary wounded and disabled servicemembers, and people’s police officers disabled due to their official duties, the fuel surcharge collection standard for passenger transport is:

For flight segments of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less, RMB 30 per passenger will be collected;

For flight segments of more than 800 kilometers, RMB 60 per passenger will be collected.

The effective date on which the fuel surcharge is levied is determined based on the original ticket issuance date. For domestic passenger tickets sold before April 5, 2026, if they are changed to April 5, 2026 (inclusive) or later, the already collected fuel surcharge will not be refunded or settled further.
