The U.S. and Israel “carry out four” airstrikes on “Iran’s only operational nuclear power plant”! Russia “urgently evacuates 198 people,” and Iran’s foreign minister: If a nuclear leak occurs, neighboring countries will be harmed.
On April 4, local time, officials from Bushehr Province in Iran said that the area around the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was attacked again—marking the fourth attack since the conflict between the United States and Israel and Iran began.
The official said the attack resulted in the death of a security personnel member at the nuclear power plant and damaged an annex building, but did not affect the nuclear power plant’s normal operations.
Iran said the relevant attack violates the International Atomic Energy Agency’s regulations on the safety of nuclear facilities. The current situation still requires further updates.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Al Araghi warned in a social media post on April 4 that if Israel and the United States bombed Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and caused a nuclear leak, neighboring countries with areas closer to the nuclear power plant would suffer loss of life.
Al Araghi wrote, “Israel and the United States have bombed Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant four times. Radioactive dust will cause the capitals of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states to lose lives, without affecting Tehran.”
In another post, Al Araghi said that Iran appreciates Pakistan’s efforts on the relevant issues. Iran has never refused to communicate with regard to the situation by traveling to Islamabad. What Iran cares about is “a plan for the permanent termination of the illegal war imposed on Iran.”
The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is located outside the southern Iranian city of Bushehr. Built along the shores of the Persian Gulf, it is Iran’s only operating nuclear power plant.

According to reports from Russian media on April 4, the CEO of Rosatom, Likhachov, said in an interview that after the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was attacked, the company’s staff at the plant began taking buses to evacuate to the border between Iran and Armenia, with plans to fly back to Russia from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The first group of evacuees totaled 198 people.
Likhachov said that the attack on April 4 took place within the protective area near the nuclear power plant, and it caused the death of an Iranian citizen. He said it is not yet clear whether this was an accident or a deliberate attack, but the situation around the nuclear power plant is developing in the least favorable direction, and the risk of a nuclear accident is increasing.

On April 4, local time, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zakharova, commented on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant being attacked again, saying that Russia is deeply concerned and strongly condemns this atrocity that caused casualties.
Zakharova said Russia has noted the deep concern expressed by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Grossi, about this attack, and that he clearly emphasized that the area where the nuclear power plant and key nuclear safety systems are located must never become a target of military strikes.
Zakharova said Russia condemns such illegal and reckless conduct, which reveals the true nature of the attackers disregarding international norms.
Russia called for a fair assessment, at the review conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, of how the US-Israel attacks undermine the treaty’s mechanisms, urged that attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities—including the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant—be stopped immediately, and warned against the situation sliding toward a dangerous edge.
