Golden Finance reports, on April 5, that Jimmy Song, co-founder of the nonprofit organization ProductionReady, said the Bitcoin (BTC) network needs a more conservative Bitcoin client node software to maintain its monetary properties and enhance the network’s decentralization. The organization is committed to providing funding for the development of Bitcoin open-source node software and related education. ProductionReady plans to restore the 83-byte OP_Return data limit for arbitrary non-monetary information in Bitcoin transactions. He added that lowering node storage costs by limiting arbitrary data is crucial for network decentralization. He said: “The more self-directed Bitcoin users are, the more decentralized and more resilient the network becomes. This means bringing the cost of running a node down to a level that ordinary people can afford.”
