Tesla and LG Energy Sign $4.3 Billion Battery Deal
On March 17, Tesla and LG Energy Solution signed a supply agreement to build a $4.3 billion lithium iron phosphate battery manufacturing plant in Lansing, Michigan. The manufactured batteries will be used in Tesla’s Megapack 3 energy storage systems produced in Houston, with production expected to begin in 2027.
