The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Electronic Information Department collaborates with ZTE Corporation and Xiaomi Group to align with the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the electronic information manufacturing industry.

People’s Finance News, April 3 — Recently, the Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry “15th Five-Year Plan” (2026–2030) drafting group of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held special symposiums and research discussions in succession with ZTE Corporation and Xiaomi Group. The drafting group introduced the achievements in the development of the electronic information manufacturing industry during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, analyzed the current circumstances and tasks facing industrial development, and briefly presented the thinking behind the drafting of the “15th Five-Year Plan” and considerations for the next steps. Responsible officials from relevant departments of ZTE Corporation and Xiaomi Group, respectively, provided special introductions on areas including chips, basic networks, smart phone terminals, color televisions, smart wearables, smart home products, artificial intelligence terminals, and digital transformation. They said that the period of the “15th Five-Year Plan” is a key window period for the transformation and upgrading of the electronic information manufacturing industry: innovation vitality in the industry continues to be released, and development trends toward intelligentization, greening, and convergence are evident. A new round of technological revolution with artificial intelligence at its core will deeply reshape the industrial ecosystem, accelerating the rise of emerging fields such as AI terminals, compute infrastructure, and intelligent connected vehicles, and helping drive the electronic information manufacturing industry to leap toward higher-end and more intelligent directions, providing solid support for the development of the digital economy and the building of a new type of industrialization. Around the key development directions for the electronic information manufacturing industry during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, ZTE and Xiaomi Group respectively submitted relevant suggestions and recommendations.
