Fully completed! Changzhou Power Supply accelerates "energization" for the construction of Metro Line 5

On March 31, with the successful completion of the final power outage construction, the power relocation and rerouting project for Changzhou Metro Line 5 was fully completed.

Metro Line 5 is a key transportation artery that runs through Changzhou’s main urban area and connects the north and south. As its core supporting project in the early stage, this power relocation project has the characteristics of “many points, long lines, and wide coverage,” involving large-scale high-voltage line rerouting and equipment relocation, and facing tremendous dual pressure in terms of safety and schedule.

During the early planning stage, the State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company organized construction personnel to go deep into more than 20 stations along the entire Line 5, conducting more than 50 on-site inspections in total. They carried out comprehensive screening and precise surveying of critical information such as the routes of utility conduits, voltage levels, and crossings/overpasses in advance, so as to identify potential construction difficulties early and lay a solid foundation for smooth project advancement. Entering the construction battle phase, the staff overcame challenges such as concurrent cross-site construction and night operations, stayed focused on construction safety and quality, and coordinated efficiently with multiple departments including transportation, achieving “zero mistakes and zero accidents” in the work. At the project close-out stage, the company simultaneously advanced tasks such as documentation archiving and site cleanup, ensuring “the job is finished, materials are used up, and the site is cleared,” thereby realizing closed-loop project management.

The project lasted for two years, during which more than 70 lines were relocated and more than 100 power outage operations were carried out in total. The successful conclusion of this power relocation and rerouting project cleared key milestones for subsequent major construction stages for Changzhou Metro Line 5, such as tunnel excavation, and laid a solid foundation.
