Abstract generation in progress

People’s Finance News, April 3. The most common broiler chicken variety in the market—white-feather broiler breeding stock—has long relied on imports for a prolonged period. In 2021, three new white-feather broiler varieties, including the supporting line system of “Guangming No. 2” that was independently bred in China, were approved by the National Review, achieving a breakthrough from “0 to 1.” Reporters learned that, at present, technological empowerment is helping China’s independently bred white-feather broilers speed up. In the inspection workshops at the breeding farm, researchers are busy conducting comprehensive checkups on tens of thousands of breeding hens. Meanwhile, an AI intelligent system analyzes ultrasound and X-ray inspection images, and within just a few minutes it can accurately determine key indicators such as the development of the birds’ breast muscles and the health of their legs. Using technologies such as genomic selection and AI intelligent analysis, the breeding farm applies the “Jingxin No. 1” breeding chip, shortening the breeding cycle by 2 to 3 generations and increasing genetic progress by more than one time. Not only white-feather broilers: since China’s Seed Industry Revitalization Action was implemented in 2021, by vigorously advancing organized and systematic research and breeding efforts, positive progress has been made in livestock and poultry breeding innovation and the promotion of new varieties. China’s independently bred laying hens, white-feather broilers, fat-tailed sheep for meat, beef cattle, and dairy cows have all gone abroad one after another, and the competitiveness of breeding stock has continued to strengthen.
