Agricultural costs rise due to Iran conflict; Turkey cancels some fertilizer tariffs

People’s Finance News, April 4—On April 3, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade said that Turkey has lifted tariffs on some basic nitrogen fertilizers such as urea and on compound fertilizers in order to protect the agricultural sector from rising costs caused by the conflict in Iran and to promote fertilizer supply security. In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Trade said that the impact of the conflict in Iran on supply chains and product prices has already become apparent, and that the measure is intended to prevent “speculative price fluctuations.” (Xinhua)
