This report from Beijing on April 3 (reporter Ding Yiting) In the southwest region, construction has started on the 1,000-kilovolt ultra-high-voltage AC transmission project in Panzhi, running through Liangshan and Yibin and Leshan in Sichuan. The newly built lines total 994 kilometers, and the highest altitude along the route exceeds 3,600 meters. After completion, it will significantly enhance the ability to dispatch clean energy from the Panzhi region. In the middle of the Beibu Gulf, a 220-kilovolt cross-sea interconnection project has been put into operation, marking that power supply to Weizhou Island in Guangxi has moved on from isolated grid operation and now has “handshakes” interconnection with the main power grid…… Since this year, a number of key power infrastructure projects have been actively advanced.

In the first quarter, the State Grid completed fixed-asset investment of more than 129 billion yuan, up 37% year over year, driving investment in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to more than 250 billion yuan. Among them, investment in new-energy grid-connection projects exceeded 10 billion yuan, up more than 50%; investment in the distribution network was 56.8 billion yuan, bringing the share of investment in power grids at all levels to 55%, with the reliability of power supply and the quality and efficiency of service for both urban and rural areas continuing to improve.

In the first quarter, China Southern Power Grid completed fixed-asset investment of 38.45 billion yuan, up 49.5%. Among them, investment in the Tibet-Guangdong HVDC project in the first quarter was double the original plan. At present, the overall progress of the “three connections and one leveling” for the Xiaojing converter station and the central converter station under the Tibet-Guangdong HVDC is completed to 20%; the overall progress of the “three connections and one leveling” for the Hunan-Guizhou back-to-back converter station is completed to over 25%; and the Hainan-Guangdong power flexible mutual support project has obtained approval and water-and-soil conservation approvals ahead of schedule.
