Abstract generation in progress

As Venezuelan President Maduro, who has been forcibly controlled by the United States, appeared in court again in the U.S. on the 26th, Venezuelan people held a rally in the city center of Caracas at Bolívar Square, shouting slogans in support of Maduro and condemning the U.S. government’s “unilateral justice” and “hegemony.” Local attendees at the rally waved the Venezuelan flag and held up portraits of Maduro; many said the United States, while claiming to act under the banner of “justice,” is in fact pursuing hegemony, grossly interfering in their country’s internal affairs, and seriously violating international law. On January 3, the United States launched a military strike against Venezuela, forcibly took control of the Maduro couple and brought them to the United States; U.S. judicial authorities have charged them with drug-trafficking offenses. On January 5, the Maduro couple made their first appearance before a federal district court in the Southern District of New York, rejecting the U.S. side’s so-called “criminal” accusations.
