On April 3, Wei Siqi, General Manager of Xiaomi’s China Region Market Department, posted on social media, saying that although Xiaomi has always been doing its best to curb the impact of memory price increases on terminal prices, this round of memory price hikes and their magnitude still far exceeded expectations. To ensure the normal supply of its products and stable quality, Xiaomi has no choice but to adjust the suggested retail prices for some products currently on sale.

This adjustment involves three models: starting April 11, the REDMI K90 Pro Max will be increased by 200 yuan per unit; for Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max, the New Year promotions will be canceled, and the 512G large-memory version will continue to receive a 200-yuan subsidy. Wei Siqi said Xiaomi will do its best to keep the impact of memory price increases within the smallest possible range of models, and asks everyone to understand.

On the evening of March 24, Xiaomi Group (HK01810, share price 32.52 HKD, market cap 843.3 billion HKD) released its performance data for the period ended December 31, 2025. According to the financial report, in 2025 Xiaomi Group achieved revenue of 457.29B yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.0%; adjusted net profit was 39.17B yuan, a year-on-year increase of 43.8%.

At the post-market telephone earnings call on the 24th, Xiaomi Group’s partner and President, as well as the President of its Mobile Phone Department, Lu Weibo, discussed storage price hikes. He said that the actual pace and intensity of this round of increase are even more aggressive than previously predicted, and its impact is not limited to the smartphone industry either.

Specifically for smartphones, in terms of the proportion of memory in BOM (bill of materials) costs, lower-end smartphones are more affected, while high-end phones are less affected.

At that time, Lu Weibo also emphasized that Xiaomi has very high priority in terms of supply. This year, the pressure is still very big, but comparatively it will be better. “We’ve seen some ‘competitors’ already start raising prices. I think I can fully understand them; everyone is really struggling,” Lu Weibo joked, saying: “We’ll try our best to hold the line first. If we really can’t hold on, then we may also have to raise prices.”

Lu Weibo believes that although this round of storage price increases is a long-cycle phenomenon, there will always be a day when it ends. The key is what will happen after the pricing-cycle ends. In his judgment, many categories will see a reshaping of the industry landscape. In the process, many companies may find it extremely difficult to operate, even to the point of not being able to survive. But at the same time, the harsh external environment will force many innovations, and AI will bring many innovative opportunities to the smart terminal industry.
