Anna Luna and other Republican members of the House told the outlet that Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson had recently lost his temper at them, strongly pressuring them to vote in favor of extending Section 702 of the FISA. As reported, Luna, in an interview, likened the reprimand that took place in the House chamber to “(as if) getting spanked while pinned to the ground.” She said the reprimander warned that if she voted against extending the FISA, she would be responsible for the “deaths of thousands of Americans.” Republican Representative Ralph Norman told Axios that when describing the situation at the time, Johnson indeed made the remarks above, and that he was “very angry and also felt frustrated.” (Global Network)
