Iran reportedly requests that ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz provide crew and cargo details.

According to reports, Iran is requiring vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to provide crew and cargo manifests, as well as voyage details and bills of lading, in order to obtain permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. According to people familiar with the matter, this process is still particular in nature and may vary from ship to ship, but it shows that, as the conflict in the Persian Gulf continues into its fourth week, Iran is stepping up its efforts to control this critical sea route through a semi-official system.
