Relieving fuel cost pressures, Australia will provide interest-free loans to key enterprises.

People’s Finance and News reported on April 2: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced on April 2 that the government will provide interest-free loans of up to 1 billion Australian dollars (about US$693 million) to key companies such as transport operators and fertilizer producers, to help them deal with the difficulties caused by soaring fuel costs. Speaking that day to the National Press Club of Australia, Albanese said the move highlights the Albanese-led Labor government’s commitment to easing the burden of the cost of living, and will be a key focus of next month’s federal budget.
