I just saw the Zcash Foundation's 2026 roadmap, and this strategic adjustment is quite noteworthy.

First, regarding Zebra, as the only consensus node implementation, they will focus on performance optimization and promote the adoption of NU7 ZIP. More importantly, the Z3 technology stack will gradually replace zcashd, which means significant changes to the infrastructure of the entire ecosystem.

Additionally, progress on the FROST threshold signature scheme is also promising. They plan to release version 3, finalize the ZIP-312 protocol standard, and introduce a distributed key generation protocol. These are core improvements centered around privacy and security.

I find their privacy protection assistance plan particularly interesting. It’s not just about emphasizing privacy but about balancing compliance, accountability, and privacy, promoting a "privacy by default" digital cash model, and exploring zero-knowledge proof-based identity solutions. This approach offers valuable insights for the entire privacy coin sector.

Regarding events, three major conferences are scheduled this year. On March 24, there will be the Zcomm online event; on May 8, the Zcash Dev Summit in Rome; and at the end of October, Zcon7 in Cancun is expected to be the highlight of the year. Such a regular schedule of community events indeed helps strengthen ecosystem cohesion.

Overall, the Zcash Foundation has clear plans for both technical depth and ecosystem development, especially in innovative privacy protection. They are definitely leading the way. Those interested should keep an eye on their progress.
