Odaily Planet Daily News: U.S. President Donald Trump released an outline of the FY2027 budget proposal on Friday, planning to request $1.5 trillion in defense spending—an amount that is arguably the highest in modern history. This preliminary plan did not disclose many key details, including the overall spending level and long-term revenue projections. According to this military spending proposal, the next fiscal year would allocate $1.1 trillion to the U.S. Department of Defense, with an additional $350 billion earmarked for critical munitions procurement, expansion of the defense industrial base, and other related matters. As early as this January—before the United States launched a large-scale strike against Iran—Trump had already pledged to submit a defense budget request of $1.5 trillion.

This budget also provides funding for certain new initiatives by the government, including $30 million to support the newly established National Fraud Investigation Office led by Vice President JD Vance, and $10 billion in mandatory funding to establish a Presidential Capital Management Program within the National Park Service for construction and beautification projects in Washington, D.C.
