Multiple regions issue limited-time car purchase vouchers

To further spark enthusiasm in the automobile consumer market and genuinely meet consumers’ increasingly diversified vehicle-purchasing needs, in recent days, governments across various places have been issuing auto consumption vouchers. Many regions have even skillfully aligned with the popular theme of “springtime economy,” planning subsidy-disbursement activities that continue to follow the principles of first-come, first-served and stopping when the quota is filled, actively promoting consumption deal closures.

Taking Yuhua District in Changsha City, Hunan Province, as an example: from April 1 to April 30, the district held the “Spring Breeze Refresh Season” campaign. During the event, both the two major consumption segments—automobiles and home appliances—offer subsidies. The subsidy amount each participating enterprise can receive is limited, adhering to the fair rule of first-come, first-served.

The Bāzhōng Economic Development Zone in Sichuan Province also has the same strategy. In its 2026 spring auto consumption voucher issuance campaign, it provides a total of RMB 4 million in vehicle-purchase subsidies to individual consumers. It is worth noting that the issuance time of the vehicle-purchase invoice must fall between March 13 and April 7.

It is reported that many regions have also enabled layered enjoyment of multiple benefits. For example, consumers who receive vouchers from the Bāzhōng Economic Development Zone can not only enjoy voucher subsidy support, but also receive, at the same time, the interest-rate subsidy for personal consumption loans in Bāzhōng City and subsidies for scrappage and trade-in/upgrade purchases for automobiles.

Consumption vouchers have the effect of “stretching limited resources to achieve large impact.” On the one hand, they help drive consumption deal closures, ensuring that limited subsidy funds precisely benefit people with real purchasing demand. On the other hand, by effectively controlling the issuance window of the vouchers, these time-limited vouchers can further stimulate consumers’ desire to buy.

Additionally, according to a reporter from Securities Daily, among local governments that have recently issued consumption vouchers, the involvement of district-level governments is increasing. Examples include Yuhua District and Qiaoxi District in Shijiazhuang City.

It is also worth mentioning that such promotional activities have shown significant results. When the reporter recently visited the Jihu Toutie Steel Park store in Shijingshan District, Beijing, a customer manager named Long Lin said that in February this year, Shijingshan District in Beijing launched the “Refresh Together” auto consumption voucher issuance campaign. Because the consumption vouchers issued by Shijingshan District can only be used at vehicle-purchase outlets within the district, many consumers, after applying for the vouchers, went to the store specifically to view cars. The vouchers’ support further boosted consumers’ enthusiasm for buying vehicles, and their intention to purchase became even stronger.
