According to CoinDesk, U.S. President Donald Trump replaced Attorney General Pam Bondi and appointed Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as Acting Attorney General. Blanche previously ordered the disbanding of the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team established by the DOJ in 2022 and signed a memo instructing prosecutors to avoid pursuing crypto industry cases on the grounds of "regulatory violations." At the time of signing the memo, Blanche still held approximately $159,000 to $485,000 in crypto assets, potentially violating ethical rules and his prior conflict-of-interest commitments.
