Amazon charges a 3.5% fuel surcharge on online sellers in the US and Canada
U.S. online retailer Amazon announced that it will charge sellers using Amazon’s Fulfillment Service a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge.
Amazon’s fuel and logistics surcharge will take effect starting April 17 and will apply to the United States and Canada. Amazon has about 2 million sellers on its platform.
The war in Iran has pushed up oil prices, and multiple logistics companies have announced increases to delivery fees. The U.S. Postal Service said last month that it plans to impose a fuel surcharge on packages starting April 26. Amazon has now also joined the list of companies adding surcharges.
