A team from Caltech and Oratomic Ventures has demonstrated that a quantum computer capable of running Shor's algorithm can operate with only 10,000 qubits. Shor's algorithm is a critical protocol that can break current encryption methods. Previously, this number was estimated to be one million or even higher. The study published on March 31 significantly accelerates the projected timeline for quantum machines to threaten blockchain cryptography. This result challenges the fundamental assumption that the quantum threat to Bitcoin is decades away.#GateSquareAprilPostingChallenge
