My friend has been talking about the Chinese version of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Reimagined lately, and I couldn't resist buying a copy to try. Honestly, as soon as I started the game, I was captivated by the miniature model-style world design. All the towns, forests, and ruins look like carefully crafted miniatures, and the characters have adorable doll-like appearances. The overall atmosphere is super cute.

The story begins on Estard Island, where the protagonist and Prince Gifa discover mysterious stone tablet fragments. Each time they find a piece, the world expands a bit more. This progressive adventure design is really interesting. The core of the battle system is based on job traits; different jobs have exclusive skills when in burst mode, requiring players to decide when to charge and when to unleash their skills. It’s more strategic than just fighting monsters to level up.

I haven't played the previous version, but friends who have say that this Reimagined version is truly more than just a remake. The pacing has been noticeably optimized, the story flows more naturally, and new players will find it easier to get into. The old version was reportedly a bit lengthy in the early stages, but this version combines the miniature-world design with smoother storytelling, making it much more accessible for newcomers.

If you enjoy immersing yourself in the story and exploring at a slow pace, this game is definitely worth playing. For players who prefer quick progress in RPGs, the pace might still feel a bit slow. It’s available now on PChome for 1590 NT dollars. If you're looking for a game you can invest in long-term, this is worth considering.
