So Bo Bichette actually went to the Mets instead of the Phillies? That's wild. The guy just left Toronto after seven years and signed that massive three-year, $126 million deal. I thought for sure Philly was getting him since they were all over him, but New York swooped in.

The crazy part is the Mets already have Francisco Lindor at short and Marcus Semien handling double play duties, so they're moving Bichette to third. That's a pretty big shift from his shortstop days in Toronto. His bat is legit though - solid .294 hitter with 20+ homers multiple times, so he should fit their cleanup spot no problem. They needed that right-handed bat after loading up too much on lefties last year.

Wild timing too because Kyle Tucker literally just rejected a bigger offer from the Mets to go to LA instead. So they pivoted hard to Bichette. Guess that worked out for both sides? The trade market's been absolutely insane this offseason.
