【AI + Doubao】Bytedance Doubao's daily average token usage exceeds 120 trillion, doubling compared to the past three months.

ByteDance’s cloud service platform, “Volcano Engine,” says that as of this March, usage of Doubao large language models—daily average tokens (Token, broadly referring to an AI computation resource measurement or the billing unit for AI services)—across ByteDance has surpassed 1.2 trillion. In the past three months, it has doubled, which is 1,000 times higher than when it was released in May 2024.

At present, the number of enterprises with cumulative Token usage on Volcano Engine exceeding one trillion has grown from 100 at the end of last year to 140.

Tan Dai, President of Volcano Engine, said that Token usage is a core metric for measuring the pace of AI development. In recent times, Doubao large language model usage has been growing rapidly; the key drivers are the surge in AI video creation and the accelerating adoption of AI agents.

Seedance 2.0 enters enterprise public beta

In addition, Volcano Engine announced that the Seedance 2.0 API has been opened for public beta for enterprise users. According to the introduction, Volcano Engine has established industry-leading copyright and portrait security safeguards for Seedance 2.0, covering the full process before, during, and after video generation creation—across various modalities involved in video generation. It detects and defends against actions such as infringement and deepfakes, effectively protecting the rights and interests of copyright holders and creators.
