Abstract generation in progress

The Lancet has retracted a 49-year-old unsigned commentary on cosmetic talc safety due to undisclosed industry ties. Researchers discovered the author was a paid consultant for Johnson & Johnson, which critics say allowed corporate defense attorneys to use the article as scientific proof of talc safety for decades. Johnson & Johnson, however, strongly disagrees with the retraction, calling it part of “underhanded litigation tactics.”
