On March 11, the “zero-tariff” policy for imported goods that residents within Hainan can purchase took effect “for a full month.” From initial fresh curiosity to everyday choices, Hainan shoppers’ carts are quietly changing. According to statistics from the Haikou Customs, in the month since the policy was implemented (from February 11 to March 10), the number of people who shopped for “zero-tariff” imported goods was 28,000 person-visits, with shopping amounts totaling 5.3731 million yuan. In the month since the policy took effect, the categories of goods at “zero-tariff” duty-free shops have continued to grow, further covering the islanders’ day-to-day needs. As the policy benefits keep being released, major “zero-tariff” imported goods duty-free shops across Hainan have also rolled out promotions with their own characteristics, allowing residents to enjoy even more stacked discounts on top of “extra discounts.” (CCTV News)
