Oh, did you see that? The governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís, has just joined União Brasil. This significantly strengthens the party's presence in the state—they already manage 9 of the 16 municipalities, and now they also gain the state executive. The guy is a pre-candidate for re-election and was the mayor of Macapá for two terms before winning the governorship in 2022. There's an interesting detail: he is connected to Randolfe Rodrigues, who leads the government in the Senate for the PT, and Randolfe was present at the affiliation event. Davi Alcolumbre, Senate president and party secretary-general, also attended. Curious that the Amapá governor has been part of several parties before—Sustainability Network, Psol, PT, Solidariedade—and now he’s placing his faith in União Brasil. Strategic move to solidify the party in the state or just a repositioning? In any case, it significantly changes the political landscape there.
