Video | The Boao Asia Forum 2026 Annual Conference concludes today
Boao Forum for Asia 2026 Annual Conference closed today. Over the four-day conference, more than 50 forum events were held. Delegates engaged in in-depth dialogue and exchanges by focusing on major challenges and urgent issues facing Asia and the world today.
The prospects for China’s development were a key topic at this year’s conference. This year marks the start of the “15th Five-Year Plan” period. The conference focused on China’s high-quality development, investing in China, and the Hainan free trade port, among other topics, and held more than 10 forum events. Guest speakers spoke highly of China’s stable and predictable development, saying it continues to inject certainty and positive energy into the world.
Jean Monnet Bridge Think Tank Chairman Zhou Rui: I believe no industry can afford to ignore China, because China’s development is positioned at the global core and has strong momentum. China’s “15th Five-Year Plan” will bring enormous opportunities to the world.
Francesco La Camera, Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency: The “15th Five-Year Plan” is very well developed. What I particularly appreciate is that the plan strongly promotes measures related to integrating renewable energy into the grid—this is precisely the direction we are working toward.
Participants believe that China’s proposed four global initiatives provide a comprehensive framework for helping build a world that is more inclusive, safer, and more sustainable.
Li Cheng, Director of the Centre for Contemporary China Studies and the World at The University of Hong Kong: What President Xi Jinping has proposed—the community with a shared future for mankind and the four global initiatives—is extremely important. It points the way for the future direction of the world. His advocacy of multilateralism, his emphasis on international cooperation, and his call for strengthening and improving the role of the United Nations are all extremely important.
Maximo Torero, Chief Economist of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization: We belong to the same global village; we are a community with a shared future, and we must work together. Through these initiatives, China has achieved significant results in promoting trade, especially trade with African countries.
