Hey, I just found out that the deadline for the free license plate exchange in Jalisco has already passed. It was until March 31st, and today is already April, so if you didn't do it, you missed the opportunity. Apparently, the license plate exchange in Jalisco was organized by last digit to avoid crowds. In March, it was for those ending in 7, 8, 9, and 0, but well, that’s already over.

What I found important is that there were several old plates that required mandatory replacement, those called Maguey, Minerva, and Gota. I don’t know if many people knew that this was necessary. The process required scheduling an appointment online and bringing documents like ID, proof of address, and the registration card.

Now comes the bad part: after March 31st, the Jalisco license plate exchange is no longer free. They say it could cost more than 2,500 pesos depending on the type of vehicle. So, if someone didn’t take advantage when it was free, now they have to pay. Authorities were recommending doing it before the deadline, but well, there are always people who wait until the last minute. If you still have old plates, better start saving up.
