I just learned the details about the death of Seth Binzer, the lead singer of Crazy Town whom we all know from that 2000s hit 'Butterfly.' The news is quite shocking: he died from a combination of prescription medications and street drugs. He was only 49 years old when he passed away at his home in Los Angeles.
The truth is, Seth Binzer had been battling addiction for years. He even appeared on those televised rehab shows years ago, Celebrity Rehab and Sober House, so people close to him already knew he was in a constant fight. His representative explained that it was truly a tragedy, something that happens too quickly and too harshly.
It's hard to believe that the guy who created one of the catchiest songs of the past decade ended up like this. Crazy Town was incredible at the time; 'Butterfly' was their third single and exploded on the charts. Seth Binzer and Bret Mazur formed the band in the mid-90s and gained fame with their album The Gift of Game. They later tried to continue but never recaptured that success.
Seth Binzer's story is a reminder of how access to harmful drugs remains a huge problem. It's sad to lose so many people this way. Too quickly, too harshly, and too soon, as his team said.
