I just reviewed the holiday calendar for Argentina in 2026, and there’s quite a bit of useful information if you want to plan your trips or time off. The Office of the Chief of Cabinet has already published all the official details.
What’s interesting is that they distinguish between national holidays (where you get double pay if you work) and non-working days (where the employer decides whether you work or not, and then you get paid normally). For 2026, they’ve added three bridge days specifically to promote tourism: March 23, July 10, and December 7. Pretty smart, honestly.
So, the holidays in Argentina this year include the usual ones: Memory Day (March 24), Falklands (April 2), Labor Day (May 1), May Revolution (May 25), and then the patriotic holidays in June, Independence in July, August, and year-end celebrations. Some can be moved if they fall on a weekend to create long weekends.
Law 27.399 allows the government to play with the movable holidays and create these tourism bridges. If you work in the private sector, the employer has the final say on non-working days, but on national holidays, there’s no debate—it's mandatory rest.
Is anyone else already planning their vacations with this, or is it just me?
