Ask AI · How Can Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Innovation Reshape the Path of Transforming Scientific and Technological Achievements?

From Beijing, March 20 (China National Radio Beijing) (Reporter Li Shuo) According to the Economic Perspective program of Economic Voice, the Central Radio and Television General Station, reported that the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum annual meeting will be held in Beijing from March 25 to 29. This year’s meeting has the annual theme of “Deep Integration of Technological Innovation and Industrial Innovation.” Focusing on cutting-edge fields such as 6G, brain-computer interfaces, and cell and gene therapy, multiple special forums will be held. In addition, frontier technology competitions and technology trade conferences will also be organized to provide matchmaking platforms for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. What new technology opportunities will this annual meeting bring? Economic Voice’s “Financial Attitude” interviewed Wang Peng, deputy researcher at the Management Research Institute of the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences.

For the first time, this annual meeting will release a set of major achievements, including “2025 Global Engineering Frontiers” and “Top Ten Major Scientific Developments in China in 2025,” among others. Wang Peng said that the release of these achievements will place even greater focus on leading research topics at the global scientific and technological frontier, enhance the originality of China’s scientific research, and strive to open up entirely new directions for global cutting-edge technological innovation.

The annual meeting also highlights the expansion of the construction of international science and innovation centers. At the opening ceremony of the forum, policies and measures related to the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Science and Technology Innovation Center will be released. This is the “construction blueprint” for the future deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation across the three regions. Wang Peng said that this means that coordinated innovation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will enter a new stage. In the future, the three regions will jointly build a full-chain innovation system of “Beijing R&D, Tianjin pilot testing, and Hebei mass production.” Key areas such as artificial intelligence, biopharmaceuticals, commercial space, and hydrogen energy will usher in breakthrough development opportunities, forming a distinctive and highly coordinated industrial development pattern.

The landing of transforming scientific and technological achievements into practice and industrialized applications is also an important focus of this annual meeting. Wang Peng said that in the past, technology achievement transformation models often followed a sequence of first forming technical achievements and then matching them with the market. Entering a new stage of high-quality development requires that the transformation model be rebuilt, with the core shifting to a new path of “demand-oriented, front-loaded collaboration.” This upgrading of the transformation model is not only an inevitable result of reconstructing the institutional logic of scientific and technological innovation and changing organizational approaches, but also an inevitable choice to adapt to the development of new quality productive forces and improve the effectiveness of transforming scientific and technological achievements.
