Renminbi and stablecoins (cryptocurrencies) become the payment currencies for the Hormuz transit tolls

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has established a comprehensive toll system in the vital global oil route—the Strait of Hormuz
🛡️ Transit rules (payment + political review)
1. Find an intermediary: Shipowners must first contact an intermediary company affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard
2. Submit background: Provide all information including ship registration, cargo list, crew list, positioning signals, etc.
3. Political review: The Guard strictly checks whether the ship is related to the US or Israel; if so, passage is directly denied
4. Read the situation: Iran ranks global countries from level 1 to 5 in friendliness; the better the relationship, the lower the fee
💰 Fee details (de-dollarization)
Pricing: Starting price for oil tankers is $1 per barrel
Payment: Refuses US dollars, only accepts RMB or stablecoins (cryptocurrencies) for settlement
Passage: After payment, receive a dedicated passage code, escorted by the Iranian Navy through designated safe corridors
This is not only a strong geopolitical statement but also a direct bypass of SWIFT and a challenge to US dollar dominance in finance
About 20% of global oil transportation is now subject to these new rules
