According to multiple media outlets including Ziniu News, recently a Ms. Wu in Jiangsu (pseudonym) filed an online complaint, saying that the gold ring she bought at a Zhou Dasheng store had a steel stamp on the inside that turned out to be “Zhou Da Jin.”

Rings with “Zhou Da Jin” stamped on them

Ms. Wu explained that on February 21, she and her best friend went to a Zhou Dasheng store in Taizhou, Jiangsu, to purchase a gold ring, paying 7,300 yuan. Feeling that the ring size ran a bit large, she wanted to exchange it at the store; her best friend also decided to buy the same ring. On February 22, when they went to the store, the store said it didn’t have the right ring size, but they could place an order to be shipped from the headquarters.

On February 27, Ms. Wu’s husband went to the store to pick up the new ring. Ms. Wu returned home and found that the warranty card had no gram weight listed, and the amount was also incorrect; the ring also had no price tag. On March 1, the store reissued the warranty card. Based on her trust in the Zhou Dasheng brand, she only restated the gram weight, and since she didn’t want to make a fuss, she didn’t dwell on the price tag issue.

The store said the stamping was done incorrectly

What Ms. Wu didn’t expect was that a few days later she accidentally found that the inside of the ring read “Zhou Da Jin.” After asking her best friend, she discovered that the steel stamp inside her friend’s ring was also “Zhou Da Jin.” Ms. Wu believes that what she bought is definitely not an authentic product, and she wants the store to compensate her according to the “triple compensation for fakes” standard.

On March 29, a reporter from Jimu News contacted Ms. Wu. She said that under the coordination of the market regulation authorities, the two sides had already reached a consensus through consultation: the store refunded the ring’s original 7,300 yuan and additionally compensated 12,000 yuan; her best friend’s ring was refunded 5,319 yuan and additionally compensated 9,000 yuan. The reporter, on the Black Cat Complaints platform [Download the Black Cat Complaints app], noted that at 17:14 on March 25, after receiving the transfer, the complainant confirmed that the complaint had been completed more than two minutes later.

The reporter then also contacted the person in charge of the store involved. They said that because the customer was being pushed too urgently, they had arranged to transfer a ring of the same model from their own “Zhou Da Jin” store, and the matter had already been resolved through an official platform.

A reporter from Jimu News also called the Zhou Dasheng 400 customer service hotline. The person answering said they had not received any relevant information. The reporter called the market regulation authorities of the Gaogang District multiple times as well, but no one answered.
