On April 2, local time April 1, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi issued an open letter to the American people. In the letter, Raisi stated that the destructive impact of sanctions, war, and aggression on the lives of the Iranian people cannot be underestimated, and attacks on Iran’s critical infrastructure—including energy and industrial facilities—constitute war crimes. Raisi further questioned whether the current U.S. policies truly align with the core interests of ‘America First.’ He stated that the U.S. has seemingly become an agent of Israel, conducting strikes against Iran, with its policies heavily influenced and manipulated by the Israeli regime; meanwhile, Israel is deliberately creating the ‘Iran threat’ narrative to divert global attention from its crimes in Palestine.
