Open Letter from Iranian President to the American People: The Iranian People Harbor No Hostility Towards Other Nations
On April 2, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi issued an open letter to the American people. The letter states that the Iranian people have no hostility towards other countries, but it is the United States that has amassed a significant number of military bases and forces around Iran, creating a military threat to the country. Iran has taken, and will continue to take, actions based on its legitimate right to self-defense, and these actions are by no means an act of war or aggression. Raisi emphasized that the destructive impact of U.S. sanctions, war, and aggression on the lives of the Iranian people cannot be underestimated, and attacks on Iran’s critical infrastructure, including energy and industrial facilities, constitute war crimes. Raisi further questioned whether the current U.S. policy truly aligns with ‘America First.’ He stated that the U.S. has seemingly become an agent of Israel, carrying out strikes against Iran, with its policy heavily influenced and manipulated by the Israeli regime. Israel, in turn, seeks to divert international attention from its crimes in Palestine by deliberately fabricating the ‘Iran threat’ narrative. Additionally, Raisi invited the American public to transcend the constraints of political rhetoric and re-examine Iran’s past, present, and vision for the future—a future based not on confrontation, but on truth, dignity, and mutual understanding as the foundation for peace.
