According to KCNA, on the 24th, North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un sent a reply to Russian President Vladimir Putin in response to a telephone call from him.

The text of the message is as follows:

Dear Comrade Putin:

You sent me, without delay, a warm and sincere congratulatory message on my once again taking on the post of Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. I sincerely thank you for it.

Today, the two countries of the DPRK and Russia are closely cooperating, with strong mutual support and assistance that has the character of an alliance, to safeguard the sovereignty of both countries and improve the welfare of their peoples.

I firmly believe that the solid relations and trust established between us will ensure the stability and long-term nature of DPRK–Russia ties in the future, and will strongly promote the development and improvement of the welfare of the two peoples.

Pyongyang will always be with Moscow.

This is our choice, and it is also our steadfast will.

Once again, I express my appreciation to you and convey, through you, warm greetings to the brotherly Russian people.

As KCNA previously reported, Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, received a congratulatory message sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 23rd. The text of the message is as follows:

Dear Comrade Kim Jong-un:

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on your once again being elected Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The decisions of the deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly clearly confirm that the whole society is unanimously supporting your line aimed at effectively solving the socio-economic tasks facing the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and, on the international stage, safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and legitimate interests.

Russia highly values your direct contribution to strengthening the friendly alliance relationship between Russia and North Korea.

Of course, we will continue to cooperate closely to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang.

This undoubtedly accords with the fundamental interests of the peoples of our two countries.
