Practice scientific consumption and build a solid defense line for rights protection
Consumer spending is tied to people’s livelihoods, and peace of mind creates happiness. Building a trustworthy consumer environment requires not only the joint efforts of regulatory authorities and businesses, but also that consumers establish a scientific approach to spending, strengthen their rights-protection awareness, actively avoid consumer risks, and become shrewd, rational consumers—so that every purchase is worry-free.
Rational consumption is the prerequisite for peace of mind in spending. Faced with an abundance of goods and promotions of all kinds, stick to purchasing what you need and only within your means, without blindly following trends or making impulsive purchases. Reject excessive product packaging, discard a mindset of comparison, don’t be misled by lavish packaging, focus on the practical value and quality of the products, and practice green, simple ways of spending—avoiding both resource waste and falling into consumer traps.
For different consumer scenarios, master specific prevention techniques. When buying valuable items such as gold and silver jewelry or home appliances, choose regular shopping malls and brand outlets, request and properly keep invoices and warranty cards, and verify product information and after-sales terms. When dining out or traveling, choose merchants with complete qualifications and good reputations, confirm prices and service standards in advance, and avoid price fraud and forced spending.
Older adults and young people are weak links in consumer rights protection and need even stronger safeguards. Older adults should be wary of schemes such as “free health checkups, gifts, and expert lectures,” do not easily trust health products and financial products recommended by unfamiliar people, do not transfer money to unfamiliar accounts at will, and when consumer problems arise, communicate promptly with family members. Young people should establish a correct view of consumption, rationally treat influencer products and in-game top-ups, avoid mindless comparisons, and stay away from harmful consumption inducements.
Rights-protection awareness is a solid backing for peace of mind in spending. Consumers should be fully familiar with their lawful rights and interests, such as the right to safety, the right to be informed, the right to fair trade, and the right to claim compensation. Once consumer infringement occurs, they should dare to protect their rights actively. Through multiple avenues—negotiating with businesses, filing complaints with consumer associations, applying for administrative mediation, and bringing lawsuits—consumers can reasonably express their demands, recover their losses, and ensure that illegal operators bear corresponding responsibility.
Peace of mind in spending is everyone’s responsibility. Every consumer should take the initiative to learn consumer knowledge, enhance risk-prevention capabilities, practice scientific and rational consumption, actively participate in consumer oversight, jointly resist acts of consumer infringement, and work together to build a safe, fair, and trustworthy consumer ecosystem—so that spending is more reassuring and life is even better.
