Make sure the account is in your name though—SASSA won't pay into joint or third-party accounts. Takes a few days to weeks for the bank to verify, then you're good.
Updating your phone number works similarly depending on your grant type. For SRD, there's a dedicated contact portal where you enter your ID and Application ID, add the new number, and they'll send you an OTP to confirm. If you hit any snags with the online stuff, just call the SASSA helpline at 0800 60 10 or visit an office. Honestly, for complicated changes, going in person is often less of a headache than dealing with the portal, even if you have to wait a bit.
The key thing is don't use dodgy unofficial websites claiming to help you change these details—stick to the official SASSA channels.
